The week to date..

Well from Tuesday to Tuesday really.

Four 'episodes' in the last seven days of varying intensities. One with Emma last Tuesday morning on the tube at Green Park, one on Sunday before picking up the car to take Dan back to school and two at night where I was woken from dreams and had to do some deep breathing to stop them getting out of control.

The good news seems to be that I'm learning how to manage them better, making me think they are more anxiety / stress based than anything physical. Also each episode does seem to be getting less intense and, if anything lasting for much less time that previously.

The initial sign seems to be a wave of nausea in my stomach which then translates into a heightened dizziness. This is where my heart rate starts to flutter a little and was how I ended up twice in the back of an ambulance when I presumably let the panic get the better of me. Again the first was at night and the second during the day time.

Body temperature seems to change too and on Sunday it took a long time for me to get warm again even with the heating on in the car. So I guess end to end the entire episode lasts about an hour.

After one of these episodes I notice a slight headache that lingers and then also feel very tired and need to sit still for a while or lay down and rest, but not necessarily sleep.

On days that I've forced myself to go out no matter how odd I've felt, I've noticed that after walking for about 20 minutes everything settles down and my body enjoys the exercise.

So there's the approach I guess, keep warm, exercise lots and eat nice things. The smoothie maker is a blessing and peanut butter and banana smoothies rock!

Seem to be dropping some weight too which is no bad thing so maybe once this is all done I'll have my flat belly back again.

Today and tomorrow are cardio check days. 24 hour tape and other bizarre sounding tests. Carotid Duplex and Echo Cardiogram.
