Not to Tulsa exactly but in my world right now still a fairly significant journey to a full recovery albeit with a brief stopover at panic hotel.
For the first time in a month I had a day of total clarity - not a single odd moment, no faints, no dizziness, a small headache but that's not such a big deal. Overall I felt completely and utterly normal again. Wow..
Then came the trip to a fringe theatre venue that couldn't afford an aircon system so spun me off in the world of near blackout again. I fought it for about 30 mins before it was just getting too much for me to handle and I had to leave and take a long slow walk home in the cool night air.
Once again this morning, things are seeming much more clear in my head. I've stopped forgetting what it was I actually went to the kitchen for and seem to be recovering some of my critical path skills too.
Visit to the doctor yesterday for a Carotid Duplex test which was all clear and today have a Transcranial Duplex to see if there is any residual blood flow problem from the stroke I suffered in 1986! Yes, the one I forgot about cos I'd made a total recovery after a few months of hard exercise. This may show why I have had these constant headaches for all these years and have pretty much ignored them for the most part.
The 24 hour heart monitor will show that I died sometime in the night last night but made a remarkable recovery at around 8am when I realised that I'd managed to unplug the leads from the damn thing in my sleep!
So if this is the start of a new trend moving towards full recovery then I guess the next step is to start a carefully graded exercise regime at the gym to get my stamina back and also maintain this new flat belly that I've acquired since taking ill... abs anyone?
